Data Analyst-Systems Specialist

Description:As a part of the Investment Operations team, the Data Analyst/System Specialist is responsible for maintaining and updating data stored in various in-house systems for use in daily operations support and periodic client reporting. Process internal requests related to portfolio accounting system, trade order management system, mutual fund order entry, proprietary client database, and data warehouse. Collaborate with other departments to lead or assist in projects as assigned.
Duties:•Responsible for providing support for monitoring the Axys helpdesk, processing daily requests for updating data in the portfolio accounting system, trade order management system, and data warehouse.
•Responsible for daily and period end processing including support for beginning of day and end of day processing, posting dividends, corporate actions, class actions, defining and maintaining security setups in the various applications, process reconciliation data, and printing client statements.
•Provide support for entering mutual fund orders in the trade order management application and custodian trading software.
•Provide support for data maintenance within the portfolio accounting software, trade order management software, and data warehouse.
•Provide general systems support / troubleshooting for the portfolio accounting software and trade order management system.
•Perform general day-to-day operational and administrative duties within the CSTS Group as assigned.
•Create and maintain reports for client and operational reporting, within portfolio management software, data warehouse, and reporting software.
•Provide leadership or support on departmental as well as firm-wide projects as requested.
•Participate in the identification and execution of business process improvement and technology initiatives.
•Help to identify, create, update and maintain CSTS operating procedures.
•BS/BA, or equivalent education, and work experience in one or more of the following fields: business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or computer science
•Minimum 3 years of data administration and project support within the securities industry
•Experience in financial services back office operations
•Proficiency in portfolio management platform (Advent’s Axys, Advent APX, Eagle STAR, Portia, Simcorp, etc..)
•Strong detail orientation and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
•Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
•The ability to work with numerous, conflicting deadlines and changing priorities, including projects as well as day to day tasks
•Professional, service-oriented demeanor capable of prioritizing and juggling multiple tasks simultaneously
•Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
•Ability to work different shifts between 7:00 am - 5:30 pm

•Experience Trading systems (ITG/XIP, Charles River, Landmark, Moxy, Eze Castle, etc.)
•Experience with a data warehouse system (Eagle Pace)
•Experience with report writing software (MicroStrategy, Vermillion, etc.)
•Worked with Bloomberg terminals
•Worked with performance measurement systems such as Factset, Eagle, Barra, Wilshire, etc.

Special Requirements:
Due to CSTS’ role in supporting trading of foreign securities, individual may be required to work outside of normal U.S. business hours and/or to work on U.S. holidays. Therefore, scheduling flexibility is highly important. Overtime may be necessary to accommodate issues with end-of-day processes or to help other operational departments requiring CSTS’ assistance. Employee must be able to work past the end of their scheduled work day until all daily processes have been completed.

Occasionally, situations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. In addition, employees may be requested to work additional hours to fill in for an absent co-worker, accommodate a heavier than normal work load, or assist with special projects.
