|Description:||The Trading Technology Analyst will work as a part of the MIS Trading Technology & Support team to support the business objectives of a trading department. This position involves working directly with traders and trade support staff to help them implement and use technology to improve trade execution and reduce settlement failures. Programming duties, particularly using SQL, will include the modification and design of interfaces between applications as well as the creation of custom solutions and reports for the business when appropriate. Additionally, they will assist in gathering project specifications and conduct project presentations to business users. Over time, with proven performance, this person will handle assignments of increasing complexity and professional challenge. |Duties:||•As a part of the MIS department, provides front line assistance to traders and trade support staff related to workflow and trading technology in order to support the objectives of the trading department.|
•Ensures all trading related technology and connectivity is properly configured and maintained
•Contributes to the evaluation, implementation and management of electronic trading platform and assists with projects related to trading system version upgrades.
•Helps to gather requirements from users and creates related project scope & requirements documents including delivery schedules, test plans, go-live scripts, etc.
•As a developer/analyst, assists in the design of technical solutions including the development and implementation of application systems
•May participate in systems evaluations and the recommendation of final solutions.
•Throughout the applications development process, manages assigned project work, handles programming, tracks activity, identifies obstacles and provides status reporting to the Director of Trading Technology and Support, as well as the various business units.
•Participates in off hours support rotations as required by global 24hr trading operations.
•Assists with the training of both technical staff and business personnel in the use of trading technology.
•Performs other duties as directed.
|Qualifications:||•4-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.|
•Financial services industry experience in various capacities with a strong exposure to trading.
•Experience with programming, systems design and integration work.
•Exhibits highly disciplined software development practices including well-documented code and comprehensive testing scenarios.
•Strong knowledge of database software, design specifications and programming tools in a predominantly Microsoft environment (MS SQL, .NET).
•Experience with technology used in a trading environment: Order Management Systems, Execution Management Systems (e.g. RealTick, Portware), Bloomberg, post-trade matching systems (OASYS, FXConnect, GTSS)
•Skills related to requirements analysis, full cycle project management as well as off the shelf product evaluation.
•Proven ability to manage small and medium sized projects independently and successfully is important.
•Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and writing skills and the proven ability to effectively work with team members and business users.
This position requires a self-directed, articulate, mature professional who is eager to utilize technical integration skills related to financial services and trading operations. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required for systems implementations and upgrades.
